About College

Sanskrit, one of the ancient language has played a significant role in the development of various Indian languages. All the Indian language flourished with the help of Sanskrit. The theoretical foundation of ancient sciences has been provided by Sanskrit only. Sanskrit language also known as mother of all the Indian languages has been helpful in the preserving the cultural heritage of India. Therefore, preservation and propagation of Sanskrit for all-round development of India, it's culture and other Indian languages a becomes essential.

Fully conscious of this responsibility, the foundation of Shrimati Jaldhari Devi Sanskrit Degree College was laid in the year 1978 in the rural area of a small village, Noonkhar, Deoria, located in Uttar Pradesh. The college commenced its illustrious career in year 1980, as a Junior College, affiliated to the Sampoornanand Sanskrit University. In the beginning, the college was allowed to provide instruction to about 500 students of Arts and Science at the Pre-Degree level. Subsequently, the College was raised to the status of a full-fledged Degree College in the year 1992.

Presently the college is equipping itself with the required academic and infrastructural innovations to get successfully and meritoriously assessed and accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council, the quality assurance body in higher education.

The college now imparts instruction mainly in Sanskrit Sastras. B.A. courses in Sahitya and Vyakaran.
